Patrick Gaul, in my eyes, is an unsung Liverpool and legal legend.
We met 26 years ago on my first nerve wracking day as a trainee solicitor with leading Liverpool law firm Weightmans.
Paddy, as he is known by many, was my first “boss” and instead of the anticipated query about my legal knowledge he immediately asked if I was a Red or Blue. As a raving Liverpool fan meeting an Evertonian it was test I immediately failed but one that began our bond and cemented our love of chat and banter for the years to come.
Patrick was not only a great lawyer but as its Managing Partner from 2003 to 2012 he led Weightmans to becoming a leading national law firm securing its future and legacy for years to come.
Now retired from the legal world we not only chat about how conversations and the power of words have impacted his life and career but his passion for all things Ireland including his 20 year mission to help secure the future of Liverpool’s Irish Centre for current and future generations.
Let’s talk on to walk on with Patrick Gaul and let’s see where it leads.
